The moment is like a moving mirror, reflecting the wildly complex and vast network of causes, as a massive and limitless array of effects.
Like all the springs and streams, all the rivers and rains, all flowing into one pool, from which is born aloft a fountain. A fountain of time, a timeless emergence.

Once upon a time there was a seed, and it had been tossed and turned about in the soil. It was anxious and unhappy, for it was sure there was something it needed to do. It was as if it had forgotten why it was here, and as if the conditions were not quite right for it.
So one lovely day, one gorgeous, auspicious morning, it had a glimpse of the sunshine. It saw something so beautiful, bright, and wonderful that it wished to crack open, unfurl and grow, so that it could once again know that warmth and brightness.

A new dharma book that I am looking forward to reading. To me it contains wisdom, the promise of raising my level of consciousness, it affords me a feeling of virtue, of purity. Strangely, amazingly fortunate that I am sitting here with it. The causes and conditions of this bizarre confluence overwhelms.
Deliciously complex, yet ever so simple, all that leads to me sat here reflecting on dharma. You might gently apply this wisdom to the situation of you sitting reading this article. Now I’m going to use this wonderful situation for insight, without reading it. I’m going to dissolve it. Simple concepts, profound if experience.

In its simplest sense, karma is like a neural pathway, a pattern of thinking made regular, a pattern of habit made into effect. Cause and effect, this being that becomes, this ceasing to be that ceasing to be. There is only one thing we can do about the karma that is forming our consciousness and our world in this exact moment, and that is to set an intention to create new and positive karma. In this exact moment karma is forming, and this is worthy of reflection.
