A Flash of Inspiration

Every now and again, you turn inwards, and see that mind can be free from its usual patterns, of its cravings and selfing and delusions, delusions like separation, fixity and permanence.

When it happens, it is like becoming aware of a great sun, and you feel as though you know that this is how mind can be, this is your potential. There is the sense that no object is to be found or craved, no subject to find or do the craving, and that this beautiful light is the light in and of all beings, in and of all life.

Never again would there be the sense that I can be seen as separate to you, or to other, or to all. It can be less like seeing a sun and more like becoming sunshine, boundless, edgeless, free, and bright.

Experience surrounded by echoes of bliss and beauty and excitement, and the deepest peace. You wonder if you will ever be the same again, and of course, knowing you are not fixed, you know you won’t!

Beyond any kind of thought or feeling, perception dies away, and you know that if you could just stay in touch with this dimension of being then all craving and suffering would simply fall away.

You also know that if you could show others how to find it, suffering would cease in them too, and perhaps you might just hope that with the dawning of this light, any conflict or harm, any greed or pollution or power becomes obsolete, not sought, its true nature seen and understood.

How can you fight or use another if you know you are not separate, and understand that like you, they seek happiness and an end to suffering. How can you possibly destroy the environment which holds this field of life, how can you possibly not act for the benefit of all life?

The White Fire of Vajrasattva – A Perfect Healing Meditation

O diamond warrior, purify my karma, meet me as we transcend time and space. Honour my potential, and bless me with your purifying, glistening healing nectar of white light. Restores us to our true home and our true nature.

Radiance. Shunyata. White Fire.

An experience of coming home so pure and true as to echo through eternity.
Dynamite vajra prince, smash my selfishness asunder, heal me of my greed and my foolishness. Hero fight by my side as I face down all demons. Lend me your gaze of white fire. Let me sit with you in boundless pure light.

Great Protector, Love me passionately. May your diamond blaze melt all that stands between me and the truth. I dissolve into you, bond sealed across space and time.

Vajrasattva nature pure like the sun, shining scintillating rainbows through the universal fields, helping lotuses everywhere grow and bloom.

Let us stand nowhere, striving side by side beyond space and time to release all beings from their suffering, so that all that lives may be free.

The Art and the Nature of True and Lasting Happiness

May I be well, may I be happy, may I be free from suffering.

May you be well, may you be happy, may you be free from suffering.

May they be well, may they be happy, may they be free from suffering.

May all be well, may all be happy, may all be free from suffering.

Metta Bhavana Meditation

We use these phrases in our meditation, essentially to take well-wishing and open it out to include all that lives. Metta is deep welling kindness, a selfless brightness, a dazzling fire that totally transforms us. Continue reading The Art and the Nature of True and Lasting Happiness

Interconnectedness – Different Paths to the Infinite

Everything in creation exists within you, and everything in you exists in creation. You are in borderless touch with the closest things, and, what is more, distance is not sufficient to separate you from things far away. All things from the lowest to the loftiest, from the smallest to the greatest, exist within you as equal things. In one atom are found all the elements of the earth. One drop of water contains all the secrets of the oceans. In one motion of the mind are found all the motions of all the laws of existence..

Khalil Gibran.

Interconnectedness.

You can see it in a breath.

You breathe in air that has been in other beings, that has blown as wind across the seas, borne aloft butterflies and swallows on warmer currents.

Breathing out air that will sway the most beautiful flowers, that will be blown out from the largest whales, that will make storms and rest a while, invisible in the still sky.

The Hunt for the Infinite

Mind divides.

Consciousness sees all as one.

We think we are alone, we think we are separate.

So hunt for the interconnection, hunt for it in quantum physics, in karma, in conditioned arising, in waves of ideas and feelings in our world.

Mantra – Words for Worlds, Echoes in Eternity

A mantra is essentially just some foreign words in a tune at first, and yet people seem to be finding meaning in them, even emotion. People are singing with all their hearts, harmonies are emerging, and it is beautiful. Something might touch you, an archetypal hand reaches out from the void. Eventually, you learn what the mantra evokes, indeed eventually you learn what all of the mantras evoke, and they are immense and vast and can leave one trembling, weeping even. What is God? Exploring Prayer, Concept and Limits, Surrender and Refuges.

It really is almost spring, there are a few flowers appearing, crocuses and snowdrops, which is a beautiful sight. Its been a long grey slog, with so much rain and awful winds. Im going to be brave and approach the unapproachable. I ask you to join me, to invoke a spirit of enquiry, of emptiness. One has to abandon labels and conceptions to approach the formless – the indefinable.

They say that religion is for those who fear hell, and that spirituality is for those who have already been there, and there is a truth in this but also a danger. I invite you to suspend judgement while you read this, to temporarily suspend disbelief, to let go of any labeling or judging. I dare you to let go of the limiting and defining egoic concept that says “I am this” or “I am that.” Lets explore this together. Continue reading What is God? So Blessed – All Here, Vajrasattva, Steps, and Purification

Inspiration, Synchronicity, and Following the Signs

There are periods of my life when the universe speaks to me, when I see signs. Am I mad, affected, probably? Am I a shaman, perhaps? Am I in touch with some higher power, definitely!

The first time it happened to me was undeniably a psychosis of sorts, it was drug fuelled. I made connections, wove a web in my mind, my imagination began to work against me. I do have a wild imagination, always have done. Continue reading Inspiration, Synchronicity, and Following the Signs
